Pourquoi j'Ai Appelé

I just went for a run with the work "running club," which consists of one other woman and me. (I fully love that we are the only ones still participating, outlasting so many of the swaggering, sprinting men.) It was a quick run - quick in duration and pace. Then I ate two snack packs of cookies. AAAAHHHH!! What happened to my resolve of only a couple weeks ago?? It will come back.

But anyway. That's not why I called!

I'm actually writing today to give an award. I KNOW! I totally made up this award! But I think the recipient deserves it, at least two hundred times over.

Many of you who read my blog also read the blog of Guy (who you probably know as FLG, but who I refuse to call either F or L). In case you don't read his blog (which you really should) (even though I don't do "should," you should), he's just lost TWO HUNDRED FRICKEN POUNDS!! Oh my GAWD dude! You're one big guy lighter than you were when you started! Or two emaciated runway models having a fat day lighter!

I've got to be honest, though. Guy is not winning this award only because he lost weight. Guy is stronger, more confident and healthier than ever, but what I love about him most is he effortlessly lives the petites victoires way of life. He celebrates all his milestones, major and minor, even if it's "just" a "yay me" on his blog. He balances an active lifestyle and healthy eating habits with the occasional celebratory bacchanal or barbecue. He never, ever punishes himself for a gain or a maintain; he just chalks it up to circumstances and pushes forward, successfully. I've never seen anything like it in all my life. To top it all off, Guy is, what, 23? He's the most self-aware 20-something I've ever known.

So I hereby present the extremely exclusive, highly coveted Crocus Award award to Guy, for the beautiful transformation that is taking place and will continue to take place in his life. You are setting yourself up for SUCCESS! Everyone - a round of applause please?
